Blood Drive

Did you know that every two seconds someone in the United States is in need of a blood transfusion? Blood donation is of great importance as each unit of whole blood donated can be used to save up to three lives. (American Red Cross, 2008) Also of great importance is organ and tissue donation. Many lives are improved and saved through organ and tissue transplants in the United States. By registering to be an organ and tissue donor you could save lives right here in Tennessee. (Donate Life America, 2008) Please see the links below

The Cathedral Parish Ministry proudly hosts regular blood drives at the Cathedral. Please check the web page and the bulletin for announcements regarding a date for the next blood drive and associated sign-up.

Blood Pressure Screenings

It has been found that nearly one in three adults in the United States has high blood pressure. Because high blood pressure often has little to no symptoms, many do not know they are living with an increased blood pressure. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to and make certain diseases worse. The only way to determine if you have high blood pressure is to have it checked regularly. (American Heart Association, 2008)

To have your blood pressure checked and for more information please come to the monthly blood pressure screening.

Blood pressure screening is held after each Mass on the first Sunday of every month as well as after the anticipated Mass the day prior to the first Sunday of the month.

CPR Certification

The Cathedral had a very good turnout for the CPR certification class this past October. If you are interested in CPR certification please continue to check the web page and listen for announcements regarding the next scheduled date.
