THE CATHOLIC FAITH

ONE GOD

We believe in one God. He is the Creator of all things. God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything. God the Father is the first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity.

ONE SON

We believe in ONE LORD - Jesus Christ. He is the only begotten Son of God, consubstantial with the Father. Meaning, Jesus is of the same substance/essence as God the Father. Second in the divine personhood of the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ is the center of our faith. Everything comes through Christ. We believe in His death & resurrection for our sake and our salvation.

ONE SPIRIT

We believe in the HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is the love shared between the Father and the Son. Often referred to as the paraclete and advocate, the Holy Spirit guides our lives toward goodness and truth in God.

ONE CHURCH

As Catholics, we believe that the Church is a necessary part of God's plan of salvation. Jesus came to bring us into communion with God, but also into communion with each other. He gave us the Church to provide for both of these. The Church is the Mystical Body, a universal church that includes the faithful on earth united with the saints and angels in heaven.

MARY

We venerate Mary. We do not worship her. Worship is for God alone. In other words, we honor our Blessed Mother with great reverence and devotion because she is the Mother of God. Mary is the model of perfect love and obedience to God. Preserved from sin by God, Mary conceived our Lord by the power of the Holy Spirit, bringing Christ into our world. Her “yes” to God made the Incarnation possible.

THE EUCHARIST

​The Catholic doctrine of the real presence is the belief that Jesus Christ is literally present in the Holy Eucharist—body, blood, soul and divinity.

 

Catholics believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist because Jesus tells us this is true in the Bible: “I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

The miracle of God’s physical presence to us at every Mass is the truest testament to Christ’s love for us. Through the most Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist, Christ offers His desire for each of us to have a personal intimate relationship with Him.
