Meet Jorge Amaro
Jorge Amaro, CYG Coordinator, is a cradle catholic born in Mexico and immigrated to Tennessee at the age of four. I was raised in Shelbyville and my home parish is St. William of Montevergine. I am active in my home parish but the Lord called me to come and serve at the Cathedral. I am former seminarian and studied from 2017-2020. My focus now is to continue serving the church where the Lord calls  By trade I work as an electrician for my weekday job. I’m really excited for this opportunity to serve the Cathedral, the heart of our diocese, as the youth coordinator.

We all know that the sacrament of Confirmation can be an exciting “rite of passage” into the Church. It is like a Passport that unlocks opportunities to grow deeper in faith and the graces of the Church! Confirmation is not the end of our faith but the springboard! So don’t let your faith get dusty on the shelf- join Cathedral Youth Group and keep growing with friends as we talk about identity in Christ, work through difficult social topics, and participate in service and social nights together!

Cathedral Youth Group was started eight years ago with a handful of adult leaders and teens who were seeking a Catholic Youth Group to foster community and spiritual growth. CYG continues to grow into a diverse group of teens from different schools and churches.

If interested in our Youth Group, contact via email Jorge Amaro or call (615) 327-2330.
